That coat was calling my name…

I am not an Ann Taylor Loft kind of girl. It’s my sister’s favorite store. I’m a small boutique with an eclectic mix kind of person, anything anti-mall. But I was out shopping with Bara and when I walked in, a blue leopard coat looked me straight in the eye, and called my name. “Try me! Buy me!”
And I did.
Which brings us to my hair. If a day goes by, and no one compliments my hair color, I need another Geo Palette. Because my hair and my lipstick are my signature style, and I need the supermarket checkout girl, the stewardess, the banker teller, and the pharmacist to compliment me every day.
Get Geo Palette color. It is calling your name. Embrace your vanity.

What does the fake Asian writing on my chest mean?

bossI have a shirt with cut out sleeves that says BOSS in English at the top. I am not the boss of anyone. It is anathema to my being. Would that I could bring out my inner BOSS, but I can’t. Underneath BOSS, it says something in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese. I could be cursing out a whole group of people, or it’s a fake word.

But because I get Geo Palette hair color, the boss of hair, I choose to believe that I am not blaspheming any language or people. I am simply celebrating beautiful hair color. Implore your colorist to get certified in Geo Palette color. Get the BOSS of hair color, I prosmise I’ll keep working on myself.

Call 516 374-1490 for an appointment, find a certified colorist in your area, or beg your stylist to get bossy and learn a new innovative system of fabulous color. -JC

Oil pulling: makes you healthy and makes you want to hurl!

frowninglipsI’m willing to try anything when it comes to a whiter smile, better breath, reducing arthritis and pain, and detoxifying my body. So I took a teaspoon of coconut oil, and swished it in my mouth.

It doubled in size as I went on my elliptical, swishing and gagging while I listened to music. “How’s it going?” asked a friend, to which I replied, “Arghhcrucckjjicjakjdfgjadch!” I was supposed to last twenty minutes and made it fifteen.

I do think this ancient Ayuvedic remedy for detoxification helps. I  got a headache, which apparently means that it’s working at pulling harmful bacteria and fungus from your body.

I’d rather get Geo Palette color for my hair. The reds and burgundies and caramel colors make my smile look whiter, and make me feel and look fabulous (for my age).

But I’ll keep on swishing for a week or so, and let you know.

Call 516 374-1490 for information, or take a look at our website under Geo Palette, or speak to George Mennella on FB.

And if you happen to pass someone with beautiful hair whose breath smells like coconut, it’s me. Say hello. -JC

Art Movement Rises

palette_intro_background_picI just read an article about Raymond Spillenger, an artist who died recently at age 89. His sons found hundreds of canvases and drawings under his bed…an undiscovered abstract expressionist who thought he was a failure.

Great art has movements that rise and fall…Abstract Expressionism was overtaken by Pop, then Super-Realism, Minimalism and so it goes.

So does great hair, from geometric to shag, shaken and shattered to super straight, punk to gothic, tribal to disconnected. Join the next evolution of hair form merged with color…the Geo Palette.

You won’t have to look under the bed for us. We’re here. Please join us for an adventure in color. -JC

TAKE A SELFIE when you get Geo Palette color…

photo_1.PNGMy kids make fun of me when I post a selfie. I know why. I’m 62. It’s unseemly that someone my age has so much vanity. But it’s not my fault. It’s my friggin’ Geo Palette hair color. Color that’s so good, I get stopped in the street by teenagers whose eyes would normally glaze over at the sight of a “mature” lady like me.

But I’m immature, and I post selfies of my hair.

Get the Geo Palette. You’ll look so good, you’ll post a pic. -JC

Get Geo Palette color at Bewitched in Woodmere, NY by calling 516 374-1490, C3 in Port Washington, the Beehive Salon in Islip, Karizma in Tampa, Blush Salon in California, or Garbo in Austin, Texas. “I’m a writter, too,” he posted. Really?

"A rose as sweet..."

“A rose as sweet…”

I’m a spelling snob. Misspellings make me crazy, and help me decide if the email from supposed Citibank is REALLY Citibank! One misplaced space, and I send it straight to the fraud department. And I’m always right. If a playwright calls himself a playwrite, is he just a poor speller? My ex-husband couldn’t spell, and defended himself by telling me that the poet W. B. Yeats couldn’t either.

So perhaps my writter friend is really a writer. But it’s such a fundamental word to get wrong, isn’t it? Does he read, I wonder?

The Geo Palette is often creatively spelled. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Juliet believes that the name doesn’t really matter…does the spelling?

Get the Geo Palette Hair System for the best color on the planet…spell it any way you like, as long as you experience its’ glorious color. I promise to keep my mouth shut. -JC

No mo’ Flo, please…the Progressive lady

get-attachment.aspxOk. I loved Flo the Progressive lady in her first few ads on television. Her retro look that took hours in the chair to create. Her teased red hair, and perky style that made me smile. Good for Stephanie Courtney earning S500,000 a year. It’s hard to be a working actress, and a national ad campaign is a blessing for any actor.

But I don’t want to look at her any more. I avert my gaze. Maybe she needs a style change. A Geo Palette color and a new look. Just saying.

Nag your hair salon and have them adopt the Geo Palette Hair System, a greener system, with no foils that strip the hair of color, and fewer touch-ups in between. Most of all, brilliant multi-tonal color that every supermarket check out girl admires, the one who never talks to anyone, but who recognizes fabulous color when she sees it. You will love it. It’s not only progressive, it’s radical. -JC

Lillie Langtry, Beauty, and Kim K.

I’m watching an old British series about the professional beauty/actress, Lillie Langtry, born in Jersey to parents who believed in higher education for their daughter. Dressed in a plain black mourning dress, her beauty and wit made the aristocracy take notice, particularly the Prince of Wales. Painters made portraits of her, photographers clamored and she even made one of the first advertisements using her image for Pears Soap.

She became an actress not because she had a strong calling to do so, but because she needed money to maintain her lifestyle. She was mobbed wherever she went.

Much like Kim Kardashian. Except that Lillie held her own in conversation with Gladstone, the prime minister, knew about art, music, literature, and politics. She was beautiful, yes. An opportunist, possibly. Well read, absolutely.

Kim is sweet and successful. A professional beauty of a different kind. You spot the differences.

Lillie went on to become an American citizen so that she could obtain a divorce, owned race horses, performed in vaudeville, and died in Monaco after living a rich life. Lillie left her mark.

Kim has left her mark as well, along with her family. But it’s a different kind of mark.

Go to www.geopalette.com for hair color that is one of a kind. Like Lillie. Call 516 374-1490 for an appointment, or consult one of our Geo Palette salons in Texas, California, Florida, or New York. Leave your mark. -JC
